Progress Wrestling have announced the entrants to their iconic Super Strong Style 16 tournament.
SSS16 is a single elimination tournament that is run yearly by Progress. It sees 16 wrestlers competing over four rounds, with a wrestler being eliminated with every defeat.
The winner of the tournament becomes the new number one contender for the Progress World Championship, and has drawn similarities to NJPW’s New Japan Cup.
Stars from promotions like AEW, TNA and NJPW have competed in the tournament in the past. Luckily for fans, the 2024 edition is no different. It features some huge names from abroad mixing with some top British wrestling talent.
Previous winners of the SSS16 include Will Ospreay, Malakai Black and Zack Sabre Jr, so the winner will be in good company.

This list contains some big names from across the world. WhatCulture’s Simon Miller will be a fan-favourite addition, after his growth in popularity since becoming a wrestler. Eddie Dennis continues to impress after coming out of retirement, while TNA’s Mike Santana is a shock addition.
The inclusion of young British stars like Luke Jacobs and Man Like Dereiss are fantastic additions, while signing AEW’s Bryan Keith to compete at SSS16 is a coup for Progress Wrestling.

When Is Progress SSS16 2024?
Progress Wrestling’s SSS16 2024 takes place on two nights. The two shows will take place on Sunday, May 26th and Monday, May 27th this year.
