Zack Sabre Jr got his win back from Hechicero as he walked out victorious at the RevPro 12 Anniversary show.
The Englishman was the hometown favourite from the bout, which was expected to be another techical masterclass from both men.
The crowd erupted in cheers and applause as Zack Sabre Jr was announced as the first-ever British winner as the G1 Climax. The usually stoic figure couldn’t help but raise a smile at the reaction, before turning his attention to Hechicero.
Zack Sabre Jr defeated Hechicero with a leg trapped and armbar submission. It was an outstanding technical wrestling masterpiece, featuring some of the most fluid counters and mat work that you will see in professional wrestling.
The Englishman proved why he is one of the best wrestlers in the world,and should be the favourite to beat Tetsuya Naito to become the IWGP World Heavyweight Champion.
This match was a rematch from their five-star classic from Mexico earlier this year.
