Cara Noir is targeting a match with Luke Jacobs as he prepares to return to the ring.

The former Progress World Champion returned from a 16-month hiatus at Progress 170 last match. Cara Noir took nearly two years to recover from a foot injury, suffered in a cage match in April 2023.

However, he returned at Progress’ latest show, and will wrestle his first match back at Progress 171 this month. Before that, Cara Noir spoke to Fightful Select about a potential match with Luke Jacobs.

Cara Noir spoke about how well Jacobs has done since his injury, with the young Englishman recently winning the Progress and Undisputed British Heavyweight Championship.

He added that he’d “love to have another go around wth Luke Jacobs”. However, Cara Noir noted that there is always doubt on how they can perform together, especially after such a long layoff with injury.

“Even in the last year and a half since I’ve been off, Luca’s kind of, you know, hit his stride to the point where he’s such an incredible performer. He was when I wrestled him behind closed doors in the Peckham era of tapings, and it’s so good to see him elevating other companies as well.”

“Of course, I’d love to have another go around with Luke Jacobs. There’s always that element of doubt, right? When you square up to these people in the ring, especially coming back post-injury. But it’s either go big or go home. I either belong on this stage or I don’t. I have to test my foot now, and let’s see what happens.”
