Tyler Bate Was Accused As Part Of The Speaking Out Movement

Tyler Bate was one of the most high-profile wrestlers included in the Speaking Out movement, although his allegations were not as serious as most.

Speaking Out was a movement that turned British wrestling on it’s head in June 2020. It started with David Starr being accused of sexual assault by multiple women, and soon snowballed.

Numerous stars were accused of various crimes, including JD McDonagh, Jack Gallagher and Jimmy Havoc. Some lost their jobs with AEW, WWE and ROH, while others remained in the companies once their names were cleared.

One of the wrestlers in the latter group was WWE’s Tyler Bate. As the first ever United Kingdom Champion, he was a huge name in the WWE and touted as a future star.

Many saw him as a future WWE Champion, but that looked to all come crashing down when he was accused in June 2020.

Tyler Bate’s Speaking Out Accusations, Revealed

WWE’s Tyler Bate had one of the tamest accusation levied towards him in 2020.

The original Tweet accusing him is long deleted, but we have the information in it to report.

The English was accused of propositioning a woman for sex in a bar late one evening. The details of the story have differed, with some claiming she was married, others saying she was underage.

This is mainly utter nonsense. The accusation was simply that Tyler Bate asked a woman in a bar to come back to his hotel room for sex. He was promptly rejected, after which he left the woman alone and went home.

Tyler Bate could be absolutely guilty of what he is accused of, but that doesn’t change anything. What he did wasn’t a crime. It wasn’t even immoral, unless you are hardcore against sex-before-marriage.

He did what thousands of young men (and women) do in every nightclub up and down the country. There’s a reason he wasn’t fired for what he did, because he didn’t do anything bad.

If you listen to what wrestlers in the past did, then what he did was incredibly tame. Bret Hart details the amount of women he cheated on his wife with in his book. He is not the first, nor the last to find women to have sex with in a bar.

Well, he didn’t find a woman to have sex with. She rejected Tyler Bate. But him failing to get his end away is not what the Speaking Out Movement was about. It takes away from the horrible crimes that were committed by some members of the wrestling community.

One man claimed that Tyler Bate tried to sleep/did sleep with his girlfriend. That may be true, but two consenting adults have nothing to do with sexual abuse.
