Tyler Bate has shaved off his moustache and beard while on the shelf due to injury.
The former WWE United Kingdom Champion tore his left pectoral muscle earlier this year. In a match on NXT in July, he suffered the injury which looks to keep him out of action until late in 2025.
The 27-year-old’s career on the main roster has not gone to plan so far. He was finally getting into his groove in a tag team with Pete Dunne as New Catch Republic, teaming with his former British Strong Style partner.
He also has strong ties to TNA’s Trent Seven. Tyler Bate teamed with him as Moustache Mountain in WWE and on the British indies, with their facial hair being an important part of the gimmick. That is now dead in the water looking at his latest Instagram posts.
Tyler Bate posted a pair of photos on Instagram recently, revealing that he has shaved his beard and moustache off completely.
The clean-shaven photos showed a much different look for Tyler Bate, who was almost unrecognisable as he was spotted checking out the art in a gallery.
He also cut his hair, which when last seen on TV was long and flowing, to compliment the beard. This new look for Tyler Bate is more of a throwback to his time in Progress Wrestling with British Strong Style and has taken years off his face.
Given how long his injury is meant to last, Tyler Bate could return to the WWE with the same beard and hairstyle he had before he left.
However, this new look could be a hint towards a character change for the Big Strong Boy. He could be looking to bring back the same character he used during the original United Kingdom Championship tournament, where he first made it onto the radar of most WWE fans.
