Kendo Nagasaski is aiming to become the oldest wrestler in the world at the age of 82!

The British grappler, who wowed fans on World of Sport in the 1960s, 70s and 80s, is looking for one last match before ending his career.

A spokesperson for the legendary British wrestler spoke with the Daily Mail recently. They revealed that Kendo Nagasaki is selling his mansion to fund his charity, while also letting slip that he is training for a return to the ring.

He is hoping to wrestle his last match this year. This would mark his 60th anniversary in wrestling, with Kendo Nagasaki’s debut match taking place at Willenhall Baths in the West Midlands on the 13th of November, 1964.

His first opponent was “Jumping” Jim Hussey. While a top-class professional in his own right, nowadays he is best known as the father of Mark “Rollerball” Rocco.

In his book “Kendo Nagasaki ans the Man Behind the Mask“, Peter Thornley (who portrays the character) claims he won that match by knockout.

At the age of 82, he would be one of the oldest wrestlers in the world. However, Dory Funk recently competed in a Double Hell Current Explosion Death Match at the age of 83, while Mae Young wrestled her last match at the age of 87.

It has been a long time since Kendo Nagasaski has wrestled, so don’t expect any quality of wrestling from the veteran grappler.

His last out came in 2008 with LDN Wrestling. Kendo Nagasaki wrestled three tag team matches in this time, with the last one seeing him win the LDN Tag Team Championships!

The legend teamed with Blondie Barrett to beat Hakan & Travis at the Civic Hall in Wolverhampton. This was Kendo Nagasaki’s last match, and he retired as champion soon after, similar to Sting in AEW.

He did reprise the character In July 2012 in a special appearance for New Generation Wrestling at the Bonus Arena in Kingston upon Hull. He also wrote a book about his life, in order to raise money for the Lee Rigby Foundation.

The Daily Mail article also spoke about how he is selling his mansion to fund new LGBTQ+ Zen Buddhism classes. So, he’s quite busy then!
