Luke Jacobs suffered a shocking defeat at the hands of Guillermo at the Resist/OTT Top Tier Vol.2 event in Barcelona.

The RevPro & Progress Heavyweight title belt holders (the first man to hold both championships at the same time) battled the Spaniard in the second-last match on the card.

The show was a cross-promotional event between the Spanish promotion Resist Pro Wrestling and Ireland’s Over The Top Wrestling, or OTT as it is more commonly known.

Top Tier Vol 2 took place in Barcelona and saw Guillermo battle against Luke Jacobs, just hours before he flew back to Britain to wrestle at RevPro Live In Sheffield.

Wrestling multiple matches in two countries may not have been the best idea. Luke Jacobs lost to Guillermo, being beaten by a sneaky pinfall as he locked in the sleeper hold to force his opponent to tap out.

Coming just one week before he takes on Michael Oku in an Undisputed British Heavyweight match at RevPro Uprising 2024.

While it is not a big deal, losing at a random show in Europe in a non-title bout, getting that win on his record could be huge for Guillermo’s record going forward.

On Twitter, Pep S. Caro posted footage of the end of the match. He wrote:

“Guillermo pinned the current RevPro’s Undisputed British Heavyweight Champion & Progress Men’s World Champion, Luke Jacobs in Barcelona. One of the most epic results in Spanish wrestling’s recent years. He outsmarted Luke in the end.”

Just one day after this match, he made it back to the UK to wrestle at RevPro Live In Sheffield.

David Francisco Pinned Luke Jacobs At RevPro Live In Sheffield

Just one day after his defeat in Spain, Luke Jacobs was pinned by David Francisco after interference from Michael Oku.

The match saw Herois Do Mar (David Franscisco & Damiao) face off against Luke Jacobs and Ethan Allen – more commonly known as The Young Guns.

The match quickly devolved into a brawl on the outside. The Sheffield Crowd were not as into Francsico as the Southampton one was last week and Herois Do Mar were the clear heels in this bout.

Damiao and Allen did the bulk of the work in the ring, impressing greatly. Given the fact that Luke Jacobs wrestled in Spain this afternoon, it made sense for him to spend more of his time on the outside than in the ring.

Jacobs did get in the ring and dominated when he did. He and Allen hit some good double-team moves and Luke Jacobs’ lariats were a brutal reminder of how good the champion is.

There was a ref bump when Jacobs accidentally powerbombed Damiao onto the referee. This allowed Michael Oku to attack Ethan Allen as revenge for last week, before attacking Francisco and Damiao too.

After Oku’s distraction, David Francisco rolled up Luke Jacobs to get the victory over the Undisputed British Heavyweight Champion. This could earn him a title shot, should Jacobs beat Oku at Uprising next week.
