Mariah May Biography

English wrestler Mariah May has quickly become one of the best female wrestlers in the world. She trained at the London School of Lucha Libre and the Knucklelocks Gym in London

She has always been impressive in the ring, and seemed destined for greatness. WWE offered Mariah May a contract just three matches into her career, although she turned down the deal to continue to work on her craft on the UK indies.

She wrestled for two years on the British indies, although under difficult circumstances. Mariah May accused Sid Scala of abuse during the Speaking Out scandal, although the WWE did nothing to investigate following the accusations.

The English star wrestled for top promotions like RevPro, Progress and Slammaster Wrestling in the UK, before moving to Japan in 2023 to wrestle for the all-woman promotion, Stardom. Here, she found a strong friendship with Mina Shirakawa, who alongside May and Xia Brookside former the Club Venus faction.

Together, Mariah May and Mina Shirakawa won the Goddesses of Stardom titles, and put on some fantastic matches as a duo. Their match at Natsupoi & Saori Anou at Stardom X Stardom 2023 was one of Mariah May’s best matches, and showed just how good she could be inside a wrestling ring.

In fact, those matches attracted the interest of Tony Khan. Mariah May signed with AEW in November 2023, and immediately aligned her with AEW Women’s Champion Toni Storm. She became a giddy fan to the Hollywood starlet-character portrayed by Storm, and the two became very, very close over the course of the year.

Mariah May helped Toni Storm keep a hold of her title, interfering in matches and attacking her opponents when required. However, their partnership ended after the Brit won the Owen Hart Cup. She brutally attacked Storm, bloodying her with her own shoe as she booked a match between the two for the title at Wembley Stadium.

Still early in her career, Mariah May has the talent and work ethic to become one of the best British women wrestlers in history, if she can carry on her current trajectory.
