William Regal was fired from WCW after a scandal on an aeroplane forced it to be grounded.

Speaking on an episode of his Gentleman Villain podcast, William Regal recanted the tale of him urinating on an air stewardesses leg. He noted that he took some pills and went to the toilet, but was interrupted by the woman he would soon be weeing on.

This was during the height of his drug addiction, and was a dark time for William Regal. The plane was forced to land, and the Englishman was carted off to a jail cell in Alaska.

“There was an incident that happened on an aeroplane. I got on a plane in Tokyo and should have landed in Detroit to do [WCW] Nitro. I took some pills. I went to the toilet. The door was one of those old-fashioned planes with a concertina door. I stood there, and my foot was stopping the door from shutting. I hadn’t locked the door.”

“A stewardess came behind me and said, ‘Excuse me, sir.’ I turned around, and nothing funny or clever about it; I peed on the lady’s foot. They landed the plane, and I woke up in a jail cell in Alaska.”

William Regal Wasn’t The Reason Why The Plane Was Forced To Land

Despite urinating all over a flight attendant, the plane wasn’t grounded due to William Regal’s behaviour. T

The British legend continued to explain how a paparazzi began punching people on the flight, which is why the pilot was forced to land. He also pointed out that other WCW wrestlers were thrown off the flight too, for various nefarious things. However, they managed to keep their jobs, while Regal was not so lucky on that day.

“A paparazzi guy in the back [of the plane] flipped out and started punching people. That was why they landed [the flight] and threw me off.”

“I’m not going to incriminate anyone, but they threw a couple of other wrestlers off because they were doing things as well. They were like me; they didn’t have any idea what they were doing. WCW investigated this, and I found out what they were doing. They got away with it. I didn’t.”

WCW fired William Regal, although he soon debuted for WWF later that year.
