Marty Scurll could be making his comeback to wrestling, and it seems Chris Jericho approves.
The Englishman was fired from his role as Ring of Honor booker in 2020. Scurll was accused of sexual assault by a former trainee of his, in a landmark moment in the Speaking Out movement. This ruined his career, and he has struggled to be booked in major promotions since.
However, he could be making a return to the top. With the support of a big star like Chris Jericho, that could be a lot easier than you think, despite fan outcry.
The former The Elite member posted a series of images in an Instagram post. These included new wrestling gear, with “#WeWantMarty” adorned on them. This heavily implies that Marty Scurll is making a return to the ring, which is an unwelcome one to many.
However, apparently not to Chris Jericho. The former AEW Champion liked the Instagram post, seemingly indicating his approval of this comeback tour. This could open up doors for Scurll to appear in AEW, especially given his former friends The Young Bucks and Adam Page are big stars in the promotion.
His wife also wrestles for AEW. Marty Scurll is married to Serena Deeb, although that has not been mentioned on TV for obvious reasons.
Marty Scurll has wrestled infrequently since being outed in 2020. He has competed mainly in tiny indie shows, as well in Mexico. He was briefly booked by New Japan Pro Wrestling, but they quickly pulled him from their shows due to the negative attention.
