Zack Sabre Jr said that Bryan Danielson‘s belief in him helped him to win the G1 Climax.
The English star became the first Briton to win the G1 Climax when he beat Yota Tsuji in an incredible final match.
He managed something that even WIll Ospreay couldn’t do. The technical wizard said Bryan Danielson’s belief in him was a key reason for the success.
Zack Sabre Jr spoke with the press following his G1 Climax 34 victory in Tokyo. The British star revealed that Bryan Danieslon inspired him in his career, and him saying be believed in him helped him at the beginning of his career.
The G1 Climax Winner also noted that having a rival believe in him is the push he needed to get the very top.
‘I’m really grateful for him saying he believed in me.” Zack Sabre Jr said. “He’s someone that’s inspired me from the beginning of my career.
“When you have a rival and contemporary like that who believes in you, that gave me the boost I needed, as well as (Yoshinari) Ogawa san announcing his retirement.”
“My whole career has been about me aspiring to personal goals, but this is bigger than me.’
He also noted that stars like Will Ospreay and Finn Balor also sent him messages of congratulations after his victory.
Zack Sabre Jr is set to face Tetsuya Naito for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship at King of Pro Wrestling. If he is successful, the British wrestler will walk into NJPW Royal Quest IV in London as a World Champion for the first time.
