Tegan Nox has revealed that she suffered with a mystery illness before her WWE release which left her “incredibly sick”.
The Welsh star came into the WWE with huge potential in the original Mae Young Classic. However, numerous knee injuries ravaged her career and she was never the same person after her third ACL injury.
With her release earlier this year, Tegan Nox has reverted to her previous name (Nixon Newell) and will embark on working on the independent scene. Before she kicks off her new career, she spoke with Alistair McGeorge for METRO about a mystery illness she suffered during her time in the WWE.
The former WWE Superstar revealed she got “incredibly sick” while in the WWE, going to the hospital for this mystery illness that nobody knew what it is.
She clarified that it wasn’t life-threatening but she was sick a lot, which greatly affected her personal and professional life.
Tegan Nox added that her long stint off TV before he release started because she had so much time off due to illness.
“I did get incredibly sick for a little while,” she said. “We didn’t really get a legit answer. I went through tests, I was in the hospital, a bunch of different stuff. So I think it was down to a lot of stress mixed with other things. But I was really sick, which didn’t help with the time off. I think that started it all, even though I said, ‘I’m good to go, it’s just I get sick now and again.’ But it wasn’t, like, deathly or anything.”
“I think it was a mix of them wanting to be safe, miscommunication with a lot of different people because it was going from their doctors to outside doctors to hospitals,” she added. “I think it just got lost in [translation] and stuff like that. But I think the unnecessary time off started with a necessary time off, if that makes sense.”
