Get ready for a huge debut show from Salford City Wrestling on October 18th, 2024!

“Take the Throne” is the inaugural event for Salford City Wrestling. The night will feature a tournament to crown the King of Salford.

The tournament will consist of three singles matches at the start of the show, with the winners of those matches meeting in a triple threat in the main event.

In addition to the tournament, there will be a women’s singles match and a tag team match. Although the matches haven’t been announced as of this writing, the promotion will begin announcing the matches starting from September 1st. All participants in the tournament will be announced soon, so keep an eye out!

Salford City Wrestling’s roster boasts a wealth of experience, bringing together a collection of wrestlers who don’t necessarily appear on the same shows together. The focus is on character-driven pro wrestling, combining engaging stories with high-quality wrestling.

Their social media presence reflects this approach, with character-driven promos and pictures introducing each wrestler. The first show will feature four matches that have never been done before, aiming to bring something new and fresh to the local scene.

Salford City Wrestling Is For The Whole Family!

Salford City Wrestling is a family-friendly promotion, appealing to all ages and tastes. While some characters will have an edge, there will be something for everyone—from Mum, Dad, to 9-year-old Johnny.

The wrestlers will be of high quality, ensuring that those who simply want to watch good wrestling will not be disappointed.

The event will take place at Pendlebury Social Club, a fully accessible venue with its own car park. The club is conveniently located near a bus station and is just a 10-minute walk from Swinton train station. There will also be a raffle on the night.

The Men Behind Salford City Wrestling

Salford City Wrestling is run by two active wrestlers, Alex Francis and Alex Boylin. They decided to start the promotion as Boylin is nearing retirement from wrestling and wanted to stay involved in the industry.

They often found themselves coming up with ideas at various shows, only to see them never implemented. The duo also wanted to see if they could run a pro wrestling promotion as a viable business. They are committed to making it work, but if the promotion isn’t profitable after a predetermined period, they will not continue.

Recognizing the importance of social media, they have enlisted the help of Paige Will, their social media expert, to handle all copy and ideas for their online presence. They aim to do more than just post a poster and hope for ticket sales, using social media as their primary source of advertising.

Their overall vision is to establish a successful promotion in the Salford area, contributing to the British wrestling scene with good quality, character-driven wrestling.

Their slogan, “putting the professional back into professional wrestling,” reflects their commitment to professionalism in every aspect of their work—from social media and talent liaison to the smooth running of shows and fan interaction.

They have also committed to donating a percentage of their profits to the ADHD Foundation, an organization close to the wrestling community.

So, get your tickets now! The first match announced sees Aiton Steen battle Jack Johnson, which should be a fantastic debut for Salford City Wrestling. Tickets start at just £12 for adults, and £6 for children.
