Ricky Knight Jr. has reinvented himself in RevPro in recent months and the time is right for him to capture the Undisputed British Heavyweight Championship for the second time.
At just 25 years old, Ricky Knight Jr. first won the title from Will Ospreay in 2022. His victory marked a pivotal moment, as he was chosen to end Ospreay’s historic 919-day reign—highlighting how highly RevPro valued him.
However, an injury derailed his reign, causing him to lose the title in a match he wasn’t even a part of. Since then, Knight Jr. has been absent from the title picture.
Many speculated that Andy Quildan didn’t fully trust him as RevPro’s top star after that setback. But over the past few months, Ricky Knight Jr. has shown that he is more than ready to reclaim the championship and lead the promotion into its next era.
Ricky Knight Jr. Has Earned His Shot Recently

Through fair means or foul, Ricky Knight Jr. has staked his claim to be Michael Oku’s next challenger for the Undisputed British Heavyweight Champion.
He attacked the new champion at the end of RevPro Uprising 2024. This was just moments after Oku beat Luke Jacobs to win the title for the second time in one of the best RevPro matches ever.
In the weeks following, Ricky Knight Jr put on some dominant performances. His matches with JJ Gale and Leon Cage showed a more aggressive side of RKJ.
This was most apparent last week in Sheffield, where he brawled with JJ Gale while throwing various members of security into the crowd with very little notion of fan safety.
These performances show that Ricky Knight Jr has earned a title shot. While he lost to JJ Gale and faces him in a de facto number one contenders match at Epic Encounters, his matches have shown that RKJ is the man who should face Michael Oku next.
RKJ Is The Best Option Out Of Michael Oku’s Challengers

There are a number of wrestlers looking to challenge Michael Oku for the Undisputed British Heavyweight Championship but Ricky Knight Jr is the one who is most deserving of that match.
1 Called Manders is facing Oku at Epic Encounters but realistically has very little chance of winning. He won’t be staying in the UK for the long haul, so handing him the top title would be a mistake.
Leon Slater is another name who has thrown his name into the hat. However, like Manders, he is back-and-forth to the US due to his contract with TNA. He’d much rather team with the Hardy Boys in TNA than carry the UK scene. Can you blame him?
JJ Gale is the other option and seems most likely. However, that is only if he beats Ricky Knight Jr. on March 16th in what will be a grudge match between the two.

JJ Gale vs Michael Oku would be a great match but it’s hard to see two high-flying babyfaces like them main eventing a big show, and it’s even harder to see JJ Gale winning.
An aggressive heel like Ricky Knight Jr. has the best chance of putting on a classic with Michael Oku and is the only one who could possibly end his RevPro title reign, especially this early.
Ricky Knight Jr. Embodies the Future of British Wrestling

There is nothing stopping Ricky Knight Jr from becoming the next big British star, whether at home or abroad.
He is already a former Undisputed British Heavyweight Champion despite only being 25. He has improved in the ring by leaps and bounds over the past few years, showing an ability far beyond the other members of his family.
However, he could make a big name for himself in Japan. His hard-hitting style would do bits in a company like New Japan, following in the footsteps of the likes of Gabe Kidd, Zack Sabre Jr and Will Ospreay.
Being a part of a wrestling dynasty in the Knight Family will only help Ricky Knight Jr. Having an Aunty in Saraya, with her huge fanbase and bumper AEW contract gives him a huge opportunity to make the move to the US and compete for Tony Khan’s company.
It is time for RevPro to make Ricky Knight Jr. their champion again because there is no telling how long they’ll have him in the company for. His future is bright and the time to get the most out of Ricky Knight Jr. as Undisputed British Heavyweight Champion is right now.
