Mick Foley thinks Tyson Fury is made for wrestling and could make a return to the WWE in the future.
The former Heavyweight Boxing Champion recently hung up his gloves and retired from boxing. While Anthony Joshua doesn’t believe he’ll be gone for good, back-to-back losses against Oleksandr Usyk saw him announce his (second) retirement from boxing.
This could open the door for Tyson Fury to return to the wrestling ring. He had his sole wrestling match at Crown Jewel 2019, beating Braun Strowman in Saudi Arabia to kick off his career in the WWE.
While he hasn’t wrestled since, Mick Foley thinks Tyson Fury is the perfect man to make a splash in the WWE.
Mick Foley spoke with SportingTalk and was asked about the recent retirement of Tyson Fury and how that could affect a potential return to the WWE.
“Oh he is? I didn’t know that.” Mick Foley admitted. “Tyson Fury’s made for our world. He really enjoys it. Another guy who respects it.”
“I met him and he was a big wrestling fan and he didn’t just bring a lot of fun to it, but he brought a lot of talent. I mean a guy that size just the way he was moving away and dodging punches, kind of like Muhammad Ali with the quickness and the head movements were unbelievable. Amazing stuff.”
Tyson Fury last appeared for the WWE at Clash at the Castle 2022. He stopped Austin Theory from cashing in on the main event before singing with Drew McIntyre to end the show.
Mick Foley Says Will Ospreay’s Future Is Limitless
Speaking in the same interview, Mick Foley admitted how impressed he was with Will Ospreay. He called the Englishman “phenomenal” and claimed his future was “pretty much limitless”.
I’m laughing because my daughter was on the Jericho cruise and she said Will is quite the character, which I didn’t know. But he’s phenomenal. I was so impressed since I saw him and Ricochet just doing some amazing stuff. So yeah, I mean, his future is pretty much limitless at this point.
