It makes Michael Oku happy to see a wrestler like Leon Cage exists as he can’t help but smile while talking about the Welsh star.
The 18-year-old Leon Cage has quickly become one of the most sought-after prospects in professional wrestling.
He recently debuted in RevPro at just 17-years-old, impressing against top talent like Robbie X and Michael Oku in some of the best matches this year in the UK.
The young Welshman has bags of potential and could be a huge star in the next decade and beyond. He’s also one of the most innovative, inventing the incredible “Stomp to the Future” move which has been stolen by the Young Bucks.
Michael Oku sees unlimited potential in Leon Cage

Undisputed British Heavyweight Champion Michael Oku recently battled Leon Cage in a RevPro ring in London, although this wasn’t the first time they’d done battle.
They’d previously had a match together in Wales and the youngster had impressed Oku with his performance in-between playing FIFA and reading “Of Mice and Men” for his GCSE English exam.
Michael Oku revealed in an interview with Pep Talks that Leon Cage existing “puts a smile on my face” as he went through Cage’s journey into professional wrestling.
“It really puts a smile on my face that someone like Leon Cage exists.” Michael Oku told Pep Talks.
“He’s so young and so excited about professional wrestling. When I first met him last year, he was just 16. If I got it right, he started training just before the pandemic hit—so during a time when people were dealing with COVID, he was around 12 or 13 years old, already beginning his journey in wrestling.”

“To me, it was so important that there was a wrestling scene for Leon Cage to be part of and to be proud of. Seeing someone like him flourish, getting to wrestle in different countries across Europe, and now getting his shot in RevPro—it really warms my heart.”
“He’s a kid who is trying to do everything. He gets in the ring and asks himself, ‘Who are my favorite wrestlers? What are the coolest moves I know? Can I do them? I’m going to do them.’ And that’s exactly what he does, delivering really exciting matches.”
“Beyond that, he has a natural ability to connect with the crowd. Just like athleticism or mic skills, crowd connection is a talent of its own—it’s difficult to teach. But he just gets it at such a young age.”
“I really think there’s no ceiling for Leon Cage. Who knows how far he can go?””
Leon Cage felt sick before he wrestled Michael Oku in RevPro for the first time
Leon Cage debuted in RevPro and was quickly put into a match with the promotion’s top star in Michael Oku.
Leon Cage recently sat down with Fightful to talk about his match at RevPro with Michael Oku. He called the match “Fantastic”, but revealed that he was almost sick with nerves before going out to wrestle him.
The fans loved it, giving them a standing ovation before Oku put him over on the microphone following the bout. He also got a round of applause from the talent backstage and feels lucky to have that experience.
“Honestly, it’s crazy. The first match we had was quite similar, with a standing ovation and people banging the ring.” Leon Cage told Fightful.
“It was such a special moment for me—it felt like living your dream as a wrestler. That happened in the middle of October. Then, less than a month later, I made my RevPro debut against Will Kaven.”

“Two weeks after that, I got contacted about doing the 229 show. I thought, ‘Fantastic, I’ll be there!’ Then I saw the graphic showing I’d be wrestling Michael Oku. I was like, ‘Oh god, this is crazy!’”
“I was so nervous. I felt sick and nervous, but I tried not to show it. It was to the point where I could feel it in my throat. When we went out there and had the match, I was honestly confused—like, what is going on? The match went fantastically; I wouldn’t have wanted it any other way.”
“When I came back, everyone was so nice—greeting me, and clapping. It was a fantastic atmosphere. I’m so lucky to have had that experience, and I’m very, very grateful for it.”
