Leon Cage felt sick before blowing the roof off the 299 in London against Michael Oku.

On Sunday, December 1st at RevPro Live in London 91, the 17-year-old had one of RevPro’s best matches of the year against Michael Oku. He took the former Undisputed British Heavyweight Champion to the limit, even hitting his viral Stomp into the Future move.

However, a Styles Clash into the single-leg Boston Crab earned Michael Oku the win and put him in good stead for his match with Luke Jacobs at RevPro Uprising 2024 later this month.

Despite the loss, Leon Cage came out of it looking like a huge star. The Neath-born Welshman looks to have a huge future in the business and could be Britain’s next big wrestling star.

Leon Cage recently sat down with Fightful to talk about his match at RevPro with Michael Oku. He called the match “Fantastic”, but revealed that he was almost sick with nerves before going out to wrestle him.

The fans loved it, giving them a standing ovation before Oku put him over on the microphone following the bout. He also got a round of applause from the talent backstage and feels lucky to have that experience.

“Honestly, it’s crazy. The first match we had was quite similar, with a standing ovation and people banging the ring. It was such a special moment for me—it felt like living your dream as a wrestler. That happened in the middle of October. Then, less than a month later, I made my RevPro debut against Will Kaven.

Two weeks after that, I got contacted about doing the 229 show. I thought, ‘Fantastic, I’ll be there!’ Then I saw the graphic showing I’d be wrestling Michael Oku. I was like, ‘Oh god, this is crazy!’

I was so nervous. I felt sick and nervous, but I tried not to show it. It was to the point where I could feel it in my throat. When we went out there and had the match, I was honestly confused—like, what is going on? The match went fantastically; I wouldn’t have wanted it any other way.

When I came back, everyone was so nice—greeting me, and clapping. It was a fantastic atmosphere. I’m so lucky to have had that experience, and I’m very, very grateful for it.”
