Drew McIntyre is no stranger to WrestleMania’s biggest moments and he will hope that WrestleMania 41 will be no different.
From dethroning Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 36 to his recent battles for championship gold, “The Scottish Warrior” has proven time and time again that he thrives under the bright lights. But with WrestleMania 41 fast approaching, one question remains: Who will McIntyre face on WWE’s grandest stage?
With potential challengers emerging from every corner of the WWE landscape—rivalries heating up, championship implications at stake, and shocking twists always a possibility—McIntyre’s path to WrestleMania is still uncertain. Could he battle Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship? Settle unfinished business with Damian Priest? Or could a surprise opponent shake things up?
Let’s break down the latest rumours, possible matchups, and what fans can expect as Drew McIntyre’s WrestleMania 41 opponent takes shape.
Damian Priest

At the moment, Drew McIntyre seems most likely to wrestle Damian Priest at WrestleMania 41.
The Scottish Psychopath was rather disappointed eliminated from the Royal Rumble by the former World Heavyweight Champion. He had an unremarkable performance in the match, which was a shame given how on fire he had been in 2024.
Reports signalled that WWE were planning for Drew McIntyre to face Damian Priest at WrestleMania, with the Royal Rumble elimination at the start of their feud. Drew has also been drafted to Smackdown in the meantime, making the bout even more likely.
This would technically be a rematch of WrestleMania last year. However, that match was a short one as Damian Priest cashed in his Money in the Bank contract to win the World Heavyweight Championship that Drew McIntyre won moments earlier from Seth Rollins.
LA Knight

A backstage controversy could be turned into an on-screen WrestleMania match, as reports of a shift towards LA Knight vs Drew McIntyre for The Grandaddy of Them All.
There were reports that McIntyre was upset at one wrestler “getting his shit in” at his expense in the Royal Rumble match, leading to his disappointing elimination at the hands of Damian Priest.
As it turns out, that man was LA Knight. His spot with Logan Paul allegedly took the focus away from Drew McIntyre being thrown out of the match, causing heat between the two men backstage.
The pair addressed this supposed story on Smackdown before Drew McIntyre beat LA Knight and Jimmy Uso to qualify for Elimination Chamber. This could be leveraged into a match at WrestleMania 41 with LA Knight potentially costing the Scot his chance at facing Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania.
LA Knight hasn’t got any concrete plans for WrestleMania yet, so a clash with LA Knight would be a huge bout for the former United States Champion.
Cody Rhodes

However, if LA Knight doesn’t cost him the match, Drew McIntyre vs Cody Rhodes could be the perfect match for both men at WrestleMania 41.
Most rumours claim that Cody Rhodes will defend his WWE Championship against John Cena at WrestleMania, with The Champ aiming to become a 17-time world champion and break Ric Flair’s world title record.
However, that is not set in stone. Both McIntyre and Cena are competing in the Elimination Chamber and either man could earn the shot at the WWE Championship. Given how impressive McIntyre was last year in his feud with CM Punk, the reward of a title match with Cody Rhodes seems a distinct possibility.
There have been rumours that the bout could take place. Drew McIntyre moving to Smackdown only fuels the fire of speculation and the Scot seems well place to face Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 41 in April.
Logan Paul

If he doesn’t face the previously mentioned wrestlers, Drew McIntyre may wrestle Logan Paul at WrestleMania. The pair had some real-life heat over the Royal Rumble controversy, which Paul has opened up about on social media.
The two men have never wrestled before. Logan Paul has impressed in big matches with opponents like Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns and can put on some incredible matches if given the time to practice and train beforehand.
This goes against how Drew McIntyre likes to work, instead preferring to leave it all out in the run with some of the hardest-hitting matches you’ll ever see. His punches and chops are among the hardest in wrestling and McIntyre would love to lay into Logan Paul at WrestleMania 41.
Both Logan Paul and Drew McIntyre are competing in the Elimination Chamber next month, so this feud could begin building up inside the steel structure.
Shinsuke Nakamura

Well, at some point Nakamura has to defend his United States title, right?
The belt has been held hostage by the Japanese star since beating LA Knight for the title. Triple H has decided to just stop booking Shinsuke Nakamura, leaving Smackdown without a secondary men’s title and the mid-card with very little to do.
If he really has no big plans for Drew McIntyre for WrestleMania, then having him take the title from Nakamura could be the best thing. They have never wrestled each other in their careers in singles matches, only meeting in Royal Rumbles and a series of triple-threat house show matches back in 2023.
Is that what I want Drew McIntyre to be doing at WrestleMania 41? No. But it is certainly a possibility for the Scottish former WWE Champion. Let us know what you think on Twitter!
