AEW aren’t going to Wembley Stadium in 2025, but that doesn’t mean a pay per view in London isn’t happening next year.
Tony Khan announced that AEW All In 2025 will not take place in the UK next year, but instead head to Texas.
The event will take place at the Globe Life Field. The baseball ground will hold its first ever wrestling event. AEW are hoping to draw at least 40,000 fans for what would their biggest show ever in the United States.
However, that leave a Great Britain-sized hole in their schedule. While absence does make the heart grow fonder, it would be a shame for their UK fans to miss out on seeing AEW live in 2025.
AEW Could Run A PPV At Craven Cottage In 2025
AEW All In 2024 looks set to sell over 50,000 tickets. The setup is much different compared to last year, with the use of Taylor Swift’s stage being incorporated into the event.
If that many fans want to see AEW next year, and Wembley Stadium isn’t an option, then it seems likely that AEW could bring a pay per view to Craven Cottage in 2025.
The main reason is an obvious one. The Khans own Fulham FC, and therefore Craven Cottage. This gives them easy access to the football stadium to run their show in, with no pesky owner to do negotiations with.
The 25,700 stadium would be perfect for drawing smaller and more intimate (yet still sizable) crowd to an AEW pay per view. It would blow nearly all of their American crowds out of the water, but the stadium is small enough that fans will be lost at the back of the stands.
The main issues with be the weather and the football season. That means that placing it in the right place in the calender is crucial.
Luckily, the only time there is good weather in the UK is when the football season ends. A UK PPV in July would be ideal, giving them the best chance of staving off the rain for a four-hour event.
With Forbidden Door in June and All In 2025 on July 12th, there’s not a huge amount of wiggle room for a AEW event at Craven Cottage.
A PPV at the end of July or beginning of August would fit into the calender, although it would have to be before the Premier League season starts agan in August (assuming Fulham stay up).
Any later and Craven Cottage would be used for football, along with the added annoyance of All Out being just a few weeks later.
Fulham played Manchester United on the opening day of the Premier League on August 16th this year. Next season, it is likely that the season will start on August 15th. This means that a UK PPV on Saturday August 10th, or Sunday August 11th, would be the ideal one for AEW.
Given the fact that Tony Khan has confirmed AEW are back in the UK next year, there is no better time use his Fulham connections to have an AEW PPV at Craven Cottage in 2025.
