Mercedes Mone Could Appear In RevPro After Undisputed British Women’s Championship Victory

RevPro fans should be looking forward to seeing Mercedes Mone wrestling for the promotion in 2025 after she won the promotion’s women’s championship in Japan today.

The AEW star battled against Mina Shirakawa in a winner-takes-all championship match. Mone put her NJPW Women’s Strong title on the line, while the Japanese star wagered the Undisputed British Women’s Championship she won from Dani Luna last year.

The match was one of the best on the show, although it was just one of two women’s bouts on the card.

Mercedes Mone achieved her dream of wrestling at the Tokyo Dome after being inspired by the likes of AJW stars of the 1990s, as well as her main inspiration in Eddie Guerrero.

She pinned Mina Shirakawa to retain her belt and become the Undisputed British Women’s Champion. This marks her first reign with the belt, which is sanctioned by Andy Quildan’s Revolution Pro Wrestling (RevPro) in England.

The title change would not have been made if not for his explicit consent. There is no way the belt would change hands on a New Japan show if RevPro weren’t getting anything out of it.

It seems certain that Mercedes Mone will wrestle in RevPro in 2025, with endless options for her opponent.

A match against Kanji would provide a brilliant showdown for the fans to sink their teeth into. Mone is a fantastic heel who could help make Kanji into the biggest female star in the UK with the right match.

The Nottingham-born star already proved her worth with a win over Serenda Deeb at RevPro Uprising, but the step-up to Mercedes Mone could be the making over her.

A match against former champion Dani Luna would also be an option. Luna has been arguably the best in the UK over the past few years and has impressed as one-half of the Spitfires in TNA.

AEW may have an issue with Mone losing to a TNA talent given their recent lack of relationship with the promotion, so this match wouldn’t be where Mone would lose the belt, making the result rather obvious.

On a different note, Mercedes Mone could get involved with one of the top heel groups in RevPro if she comes in as a babyface.

The Cut Throat Collective have dominated the women’s division in RevPro in recent months, with stars like Lizzie Evo, Alex Windsor and Safire Reed proving to be fantastic in the role.

Alex Windsor has already been dragged out of retirement to face the CTC and a huge five-vs-five match seems to be brewing. Mercedes Mone joining the RevPro team would be huge for the angle, although whether Quildan wants to use her likely limited dates on a multi-woman match remains to be seen.

There are so many fantastic options for Mercedes Mone in RevPro. My only hope is that they don’t just drop the title to somebody else on a US or Japan show and fans in the Copper Box or Electric Ballroom get the chance to see Mercedes Mone in a RevPro ring.

The night before Wrestle Dynasty, Zack Sabre Jr became the first foreigner to win in the main event of Wrestle Kingdom.
