RevPro brings their Live in Sheffield show from the Network venue on December 15th, 2024.

The event is the last stop on the road to RevPro Uprising 2024. This is RevPro’s final show of 2024 and is packed full of matches like Michael Oku vs Luke Jacobs and Leon Slater vs Zozaya, all of which are being built up on Live in Sheffield.

This shows features some huge matches. Zozaya faces Liam Slate to build to his match with Leon Slater (no relation) while Leon Cage continues his impressive streak of matches against Bullet Club’s Robbie X.

Michael Oku also fights in the main event, battling Chris Ridgeway en route to a rematch with British Undisputed Heavyweight Champion Luke Jacobs.

Connor Mills & Jay Joshua vs JJ Gale & Cameron Khai

Connor Mills and Jay Joshua continue to impress as a team and are one of the best in the UK right now. This match was technically great, fast-paced and filled with twists and turns

Khai and Gale also worked well in this match but it was clear who the stars were. I expect a huge push for these two going forward, especially how strongly they have been booked up to this point.

The ending was fantastic, with Mills catching Gale in midair with a submission while Joshua powerbombed Khai to hand the duo the big win.

Winner: Connor Mills submits JJ Gale

Millie McKenzie vs Anita Vaughn

Millie McKenzie picked the victory over Anita Vaughn in a very significant match. While the actual content of the match decent, but nothing special, the ending had huge implications for the future.

Merdeces Blaze made the distraction during the match, giving McKenzie the opportuntiy to win the match, and she promptly took it. She hit a series of suplexs before a piledriver ended the match and gave her the win before Uprising 2024.

After the match, Millie McKenzie was announced as the newest member of the Cut Throat Collective, becoming the sixth member to join the group.

Winner: Millie McKenzie

Star Rating: 2.5 Stars

C.P.F vs Sunshine Machine & Sha Samuels

While this was a good match up until the end, it didn’t have a definitive ending due to the amount of run-ins that took place.

It saw Connor Mills, Jay Joshua, Will Kaven, Mark Trew and Kieran Lacey all run in to attack various members of the match, which ruined what was a good showing so far.

Winner: Match is thrown out

Leon Cage vs Robbie X

Is Robbie X in Bullet Club? He only did 4,000 different gun gestures in this match so I wasn’t sure.

This was always going to be one of the matches of the night and did not disappoint. The 17-year-old Welshman is quickly becoming one of my favourite wrestlers, although being in the ring with a talent like Robbie X makes it easy to stand out.

Leon Cage hit some incredible moves on Robbie X, all of which were kicked out of. While usually I’d say to hold some back and use them when it matters, he is making his name for himself as an innovator, which will make Cage a big name on the indies.

The highlight of this was something I’d never seen before, in what I can only describe as a “Pedigree Canadian Destroyer”. You can see some of the moves here.

Robbie X picked up the win with a running kick to the face after helping make Leon Cage look like a top wrestlers in a fantastic, back-and-forth and fast-paced match.

While Leon Cage still searches for his fist win in RevPro, he continues to put on the match of the night against a wide variety of opponents.

Winner: Robbie X via pin fall

Herois Do Mar vs Young Guns

After the interval, the second half of the show kicked off. The first match after the break saw Herois Do Mar (David Franscisco & Damiao) face off against Luke Jacobs and Ethan Allen – more commonly known as The Young Guns.

The match quickly devolved into a brawl on the outside. The Sheffield Crowd were not as into Francsico as the Southampton one was last week and Herois Do Mar were the clear heels in this bout.

Damiao and Allen did the bulk of the work in the ring, impressing greatly. Given the fact that Luke Jacobs wrestled in Spain yesterday afternoon, it made sense for him to spend more of his time on the outside than in the ring.

Jacobs did get in the ring and dominated when he did. He and Allen hit some good double-team moves and Luke Jacobs’ lariats were a brutal reminder of how good the champion is.

There was a ref bump when Jacobs accidentally powerbombed Damiao onto the referee. This allowed Michael Oku to attack Ethan Allen as revenge for last week, before attacking Francisco and Damiao too.

After Oku’s distraction, David Francisco rolled up Luke Jacobs to get the victory over the Undisputed British Heavyweight Champion. This could earn him a title shot, should Jacobs beat Oku at Uprising next week.

Winner: David Francisco pinned Luke Jacobs

Zozaya vs Liam Slater

Liam Slater makes his debut in RevPro as he battled Zozaya on behalf of Leon Slater. The latter Slater is facing the Spaniard at RevPro Uprising 2024 next week in a sixty-minute Iron Man match, so this is a good warm-up match for him for that event.

Liam Slater looked like he’d forgotten his ring gear and was wearing a pair of shorts that were two sizes too small for him. However, his technical wrestling ability was second-to-none as he wore down Zozaya on the mat.

The story of the match was simple. The Slater boys train together. Liam was wearing down Zozaya and learning his style to feed back to Leon in preperation for their match at Uprising 2024.

A piledriver helped get Zozaya back on top but Slater’s work on his shoulder kept Zozaya grounded, in what could be a preview of Uprising. However, a Spanish Fly followed by a spinning kick to the head earned the Spaniard the win, in what was a new finishing move for Zozaya.

Winner: Zozaya via pinfall

Cut Throat Collective vs Jordan, Kanji & Lee

After adding Millie McKenzie to their group, Lizzy Evo, Nina Samuels and Safire Reed (the Cut Throat Collective) competed in six-woman tag team action at RevPro Live in Sheffield.

They battled Chantal Jordan, Kanji and Lucia Lee in the match, with Kanji the fan-favourite in her home town for this match. Kanji and Reed has some great exchanges to kick off the match, which the hometown star got the better of before the CTC resorted to cheating.

Chantal Jordan got the hot tag and was on fire after her hot tag. She looked great in the ring and managed to battle all three of her opponents, getting a nearfall on Reed. However, more cheating kept the heels on top.

After a prolonged period of domination by the heels (which is one reason why I generally dislike six-wrestler tag matches), Kanji got the hot tag and took control with some impressive offence. There was a scary-looking suicide dive spot, but she quickly got to her feet and to the top rope.

The three wrestlers gave a great effort, but the CTC’s numbers were too great. Safire Reed pinned Lucia Lee before embarking on a beatdown of the trio.

Millie McKenzie and Mercedes Blaze came out to attack Kanji with a kendo stick. However, the new CTC member turned on the group, revealing her joining the group to be a ruse as she lured them in and helped the faces attacking the heel group.

Kanji is set to face Serena Deeb at RevPro Uprising 2024 on Saturday.

Winner: Reed pins Lee

Michael Oku vs Chris Ridgeway

The match kicked off with some technical wrestling, harkening back to the classic British wrestling style. Chris Ridgeway showed his technical skills and had the better of Oku in the opening spell of the bout.

Oku’s speed and high-flying ability soon got him back on top and he showed why he is the number-one contender for Luke Jacob’s Undisputed British Heavyweight Championship.

While Ridgeway looked very impressive against the former champion, they had a good back-and-forth match that had you belieiving that anybody could win.

Oku eventually managed to roll up Ridgeway after a fun ending sequence, but the match took its toll on his body, putting Uprising’s main event in doubt.

After the match, Oku provoked Luke Jacobs by calling him a “selfish piece of shit”, leading to the champion attacking him along with Ethan Allen. Jacobs then cut a promo on Oku, even threatening to break Amira’s legs.

Winner: Michael Oku by pinfall

Star Rating: 3.5 Stars
