8. Finlay
- Achievements: United States Championship
While Finlay’s run in WWE came at the end of his career, he still made a huge mark on the company. The Northern Irish superstar was retired when he was brought into the WWE in 2005. He was originally signed as a producer, but a try-out match saw him become an active wrestler again.
He was nearly 50 at this point, having wrestled since appearing on World of Sport in the 1970s. His matches shocked fans back then, especially as he stoked tensions surrounding the Troubles during that era.
However, it is his WWE work we are judging him on. Finlay came in as a heel, and was considered one of the most feared men on the roster. He was also one of the most impressive, with very few men able to work the technical British style as well as he could.
His most memorable storyline came with Hornswoggle. His leprechaun-turned-son had a lengthy program with Vince McMahon, which culminated in Finlay facing JBL at WrestleMania 24.
7. Tyler Bate
- Achievements: United Kingdom Champion, NXT UK Tag Team Champion, NXT Tag Team Champion, NXT Heritage Cup
Despite still being early on in his WWE career, Tyler Bate has done a lot to impress fans.

4. Dynamite Kid
- Achievements: WWE Tag Team Champion
3. William Regal
- Achievements: King of the Ring,
2. Drew McIntyre

- Achievements: WWE Champion (2), World Heavyweight Champion, Royal Rumble Winner, etc.
Scottish superstar Drew McIntyre is certainly the most decorated British wrestler in WWE history.
Nobody from the Britain had ever won the WWE Championship before McIntyre defeated Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 36. It came after he won the 2020 Royal Rumble, becoming one of the top wrestlers in all of WWE.
This came years after he originally failed, though. Once anointed as “The Chosen One” by Vince McMahon, McIntyre’s attitude saw him fall down the card and eventually be released by the company in 2014.
He returned in 2016 and instantly became a big star. He won the NXT Championship almost instantly, and was called up to the main roster where he quickly ascended to the main event.
Drew’s stardom forced WWE to book the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff for the first stadium show in the UK for 30 years. He main evented the show, losing to Roman Reigns in one of the best matches that year.
1. British Bulldog
- Achievements: WWE Intercontinental Championship, WWE Tag Team Championship, WWE European Championship, WWE Hall of Famer (2020)
While he never won the WWE Championship, it’s hard to argue against the British Bulldog as being the biggest British star in WWE history.
